Quality Work on Your Timeline
As the Author, you are responsible for the final content. The editor will make suggestions for word choice and phrasing and will identify corrections based on the rules of grammar and punctuation, and the author is responsible for deciding which suggestions to accept and which corrections to adopt.

Project Quote
Each project is reviewed in advance, and a quote is provided based on the estimated time required for the first draft. Additional drafts have a lower fee and are discussed on an as-needed basis.

Timelines and Deadlines
The quote will include an estimated timeline by which the editor proposes completing the project. The timeline will be the shortest estimated time frame based on the length of the project and other pending projects previously submitted. Projects will be completed in a first-come, first-served basis, unless a priority rush is requested.

Priority Rush Requests
Clients may request priority rush deadlines; however, the editor must approve these requests. The editor's decision is based on the ability to meet the requested rush deadline. The editorial fee is increased to $75 per hour for rush projects.
Negotiating Project Parameters
Editing will begin after both parties agree on a project rate and a timeline for completion. This process may take approximately 1-2 days.
Time
The editor can typically complete about 10 pages per hour, depending on the amount of editing suggestions on each page.

Tables and Graphs
Pages with tables, graphs, sidebars and images will be edited for spelling, formatting, labeling and logic. The editor will not analyze graphical data for accuracy, but she will compare the written analysis to the visual aid and confirm its consistency.

Fact Checking
Facts and quotes that seem questionable or illogical will be highlighted for the author to double check and confirm. The editor will not research data or quotes for accuracy. The author is responsible for all content and analysis.

Author Responsibility
Editorial corrections do not guarantee that your document will be accepted for publication, that a dissertation will be approved, that a grant proposal will be accepted for funding, or that a clinical trial will be approved by an IRB. The author is responsible for all content in the final product.

Phone & Email Consultation
As needed, the editor will consult with the author over the phone or by email to discuss details or ask for clarifications about the project. The author may also contact the editor with thoughts, questions or clarifications. This service is included in the fee.

Drafts & Revisions
Revisions and drafts will be sent as Microsoft Word documents attached to an email. All edits will be indicated using the "tracked changes" and "comments" features in Microsoft Word.

If the author requests additional revisions, a fee is charged for each additional reading of a document, and a new quote will be issued. In these cases, the fee is reduced for each additional draft.

Document Submission
Documents should be submitted as a Microsoft Word file attached to an email. The editor will respond to your initial request (from this website's contact form) and provide an email address.

Font
Documents should be formatted with a standard, professional font, such as Times New Roman, Garamond, Calibri, Arial, or Helvetica. The font should be size 11 or 12, as appropriate. If other formats are necessary for your project, please notify the editor when submitting the document.

Margins
Documents should be formatted with a 1" margin, unless otherwise stipulated by the style guide in use.

Style Guide
The editor will approach each project using the style guide specified by the author.

Confidentiality
All documents submitted to Whitley Editorial Services are considered confidential and private. No information will be shared or discussed with third parties.
